MENSTRUAL HYGIENE AWARENESS PROGRAMME

There are eco-friendly alternatives to disposable sanitary products like cloth pads and menstrual cups. These products not only help reduce the amount of waste generated, but also eliminate the health risks associated with the chemicals used in disposable pads and tampons.

Switching to reusable period care products may take some getting used to, but they offer numerous benefits in terms of cost savings, environmental sustainability, and personal comfort. By using cloth pads and menstrual cups, women can reduce their carbon footprint and help create a more sustainable future.

In addition to promoting reusable period care products, it’s also important to raise awareness about the environmental and health impacts of disposable sanitary products, and to encourage more sustainable practices in waste management. By working together, we can help create a healthier and more sustainable future for everyone.

PARIHAR, in collaboration with Bengaluru City Police worked together to promote menstrual hygiene and provide sustainable period care options for women police staff.

STONE SOUP organization conducted the sessions on Menstrual Hygiene and donated menstrual cups in partnership with JATKA organization. (The cost of each cup is Rs.1,145/-).

By providing free menstrual cups and conducting educational sessions on menstrual hygiene, these organizations are helping to address the challenges faced by women in accessing safe and affordable period care. This is especially important for women working in the police force who may not have access to adequate menstrual products while on duty.

It’s encouraging to hear that many women police personnel in Bengaluru City have benefited from this programme and are finding menstrual cups to be a comfortable and convenient alternative to disposable products. This not only helps reduce the amount of waste generated but also promotes a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly approach to period care.

Overall, this is a great initiative that not only addresses the menstrual hygiene needs of women but also supports their health, well-being, and productivity in the workplace
